WHO ARE THE ROSICRUCIANS

Rosicrucians are:

1.    Persons who, about 5,000 years ago, built the Great Pyramid of Egypt which the best architects and structural Engineers of our modern time are yet to understand let alone replicate.

2.  Those who, through Pharaoh Amenothep the IV, popularly known as Akhnaton and the First Citizen of the World, were the first to give to the world, the concept of monotheism or the existence of one sole God about 4000 years ago. Although this knowledge has been known and kept by them over millennia.

3.  Those persons who, through notable scientists such as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton and Michael Faraday, Rosicrucians led the world to discover its scientific and technological heritage.

4.  Persons who, through ancient Greek Philosophers, gave the world, its first idea of democracy.

5.  Back home, among Rosicrucians of note were Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe, the Owele of Onitsha.

These then are the Rosicrucians who are members of that Honourable and Time Honoured organization distinctly known as the Rosicrucian Order AMORC.

It must be stated here that many different organizations have used and continue to use the terminology “Rosicrucian Order” to mean different things throughout history. However, the current speaker is specifically discussing, the Rosicrucian Order AMORC. The acronym “AMORC” means Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis    and Rosae Crucis in that acronym simply means Rose and the Cross.

In modern times, the existence of the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC was suddenly made popular in the 17^th century when, using the newly print technology to advantage, Rosicrucians revealed their own presence in Germany, England and France through the publication of three Manifestoes that have now become famous throughout the esoteric world: the “Fama Fraternitatis” the “Confessio Fraternitatis” and the “Chymical  wedding of Christian Rozenkrutz” published respectely in 1614, 1615 and 1616. we now know that these Manifestoes that interweave historical accounts with allegorical statements were written by a College of eminent Rosicrucians known under the name of “Circle of Tubigen”. A few years afterwards, precisely in 1623 a poster pasted on the streets of Paris brought more information about the Rosicrucian Order. For many years after this last date, the Order assumed many forms in many parts of the world but finally resurfaced in 1909 under the name “Ancient Mystical Order Rosae Crucis”. In 2001 AMORC published a fourth Manifesto, the “Positio Fraternitatis Rosae-Crucis” which has been said by historians Roland Edighoffer and Antoine Faivre to belong to the family of the 17^th century Manifestoes.

Yet, it is to Ancient Egypt that we must return, if we must seek to understand the current structure and activities of the Rosicrucian Order AMORC. Although the existence of AMORC pre-dates the coming into existence of Ancient Egypt, it was in this Empire of old that Pharaoh Thutmosis the III (1500-1447 BC), about 3500 years ago reorganized the physical structure of this organization with the view to giving it a look similar to that which it has today.

In our days, Rosicrucians are found in all countries of the earth. These Rosicrucians are adherents of all religions and they belong to all political parties that may be operating in their respective countries. This is why the Rosicrucian Order cannot be a religious organization or a political party. By the same token, the  Rosicrucian Order AMORC cannot be a secret society since it is legally registered in all countries in which it operates and since in all these countries it maintains public buildings, advertises its activities using the mass media and since it holds regularly public meetings such as the one we are currently holding.

Throughout the history of man’s sojourn on earth, the Rosicrucian Order AMORC has continually contributed to the refinement of man’s nature through the sponsoring of Avatars or Masters. One such Masters, who never established any religion since his mission was purely to advance mysticism was Jesus the Christ.

The mission of Jesus the Christ was to discourse ways and to demonstrate to men how they may unite with the Creator even while they are still walking the face of the earth; this process is called mysticism and those who propound this philosophy are known as mystics. The birth of this Mystic of note (Jesus the Christ) was predicted by the Esenes, the forebears of Rosicrucians who also prepared for a few centuries for the coming of Jesus the Christ through an equally prepared Colombe of their Order which currently bears the name of Rosicrucian Order AMORC.

Today, millions of Rosicrucian students exist on earth; these students are joyfully studying in the privacy of their homes, weekly Rosicrucian lessons posted to them by the Grand Lodges of the Rosicrucian Order while they remain faithful to their religions whatever it may be (Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism and others). Through their efforts, these students are gradually refining their human nature and by refining their own human nature, they gradually improving the quality of life on our planet Earth and by improving quality of life on earth they are reducing suffering on earth and making the earth less of a hell but more of Paradise.
